Refugee Week 20-26 June 2016

03rd July 2016
Sometimes3 has been commissioned by REMA (Rotherham Ethnic Minority Alliance) and the Unity Centre in Rotherham to carry out a photographic project to celebrate the Refugee Week 20-26 June 2016 in order to promote a positive image of a refugee and migration as a fact of life and often a very sad necessity. People do not realise that many of those who leave their motherland do it to escape persecution, war, rape, that they run for their lives not just swap countries because the life is somehow more challenging there than in the UK. Sometimes3 has perhaps only scratched the surface of what being a refugee or a migrant is. We met real people, talked to them, followed them around a bit, to get a mere glimpse of who they are. Their beautiful portraits were featured in the exhibition on 28-30 June 2016 in The Old Market Gallery in Rotherham. The exhibition will be on a permanent display in the Unity Centre.
